Coastal Farm and Ranch, an outdoor supply retailer, multi-launches Episerver, inRiver (PIM), and Tecsys (DOM/OMS) together for their first digital commerce ecosystem


Coastal Farm & Ranch wanted to build their first eCommerce website that provided an omnichannel experience in the form of buy-online-pickup-in-store, fulfillment of digital commerce orders direct from the retail stores, and customer analytics. After evaluating multiple platforms, they selected Episerver for Content Management (CMS) and Commerce, inRiver for Product Information Management (PIM), and Tecsys as their Distributed Order Management System (DOM/OMS) to integrate with their current Epicor Eagle ERP system.


Luminos Labs was selected to guide, plan, design, and implement the new digital commerce solution. It was critical to have all the core platforms integrated (Episerver, inRiver, Tecsys, Epicor) to create a seamless workflow for internal users, as well as an engaging experience for end customers.

The process started with a discovery and design phase to gather requirements for the implementation. A proven risk mitigation methodology ensured proper planning. For the build phase, Coastal used the Luminosity Episerver Accelerator and the Luminosity inRiver Connector to accelerate delivery and time-to-market while including parallel development tracks to stabilize all platforms before the scheduled launch.


Within 10 months, Coastal Farm & Ranch launched a seamlessly integrated multi-platform digital commerce ecosystem (Commerce, CMS, ERP, PIM, and DOM/OMS)

The close client/partner collaboration allowed Luminos Labs to build a functional solution that had a positive impact on their day to day business.

Coastal and Luminos Labs designed and implemented an integrated solution using Luminos Labs’ Integration Hub as its core module. This architecture promotes true decoupling between the systems, enables rapid deployments with minimal friction to other systems, and better control on throughput and scalability of the overall solution.

The inRiver data model used historical industry data to develop the base model, and as more vendor product data comes in, it is continuously adjusted. The Luminosity inRiver Connector and attribute model within the Luminosity Episerver Accelerator helped to provide this additional flexibility.
