Luminos Labs Vertiv Case Study

Situation

Vertiv, formerly Emerson Network Power, is a global provider of mission-critical equipment for applications in data centers and communication networks, in both commercial and industrial settings. Online, Vertiv receives between four and five million visitors annually across eighteen different languages. 

When they initially came to Luminos Labs, Vertiv was in the early stages of a phased transformation of their entire online footprint. High-level goals for this initiative included a website capable of selling products into six global regions with eighteen different languages and local experience personalization. 

Later phases of the project included a robust partner portal with single sign-on, a personalized partner dashboard, and the integration of dozens of legacy tools for partners. 

There were a couple of new challenges on this project which were overcome quickly because of our deep understanding of the Episerver open architecture and personalization features. These included integrations with BrandMaker, Okta, and regional personalization based on GeoIP location services. For the Vertiv partner portal, it was necessary to lace together a variety of homegrown, legacy tools and place them behind a single sign-on.   

Approach

For this initiative, we worked in collaboration with another partner who handled the user experience design. Our contributions included:

In phase 1 we implemented Episerver CMS for all users manage products and across the six regions in 18 languages, developed the regional personalization feature, integrated with their PIM and integrated with translations.com. 

During phase 2 we implemented the Partner Portal (resellers, distributors) including a personalized dashboard, enabled Partners to get discounts, and integrated legacy marketing tools/sales tools. 

Results

Vertiv is delighted with the results of this project, and they've hired Luminos Labs to continue our work on a third phase to build a new consultant's portal. They've also utilized Luminos to provide ongoing managed services in support of their overall strategic goals. As a result of improvements to the digital commerce experience, Vertiv has experienced lift across many business-critical metrics including:
